Coverage

Will it read my data? Type the name and find out.

Every vendor says “700+ feeds”. None of them will tell you whether yours is one. Here is the list, the path each one takes, and what happens if yours is missing.

The five paths

How data gets in. All of them read-only.

1

Statement export, read as it comes

Schwab, Fidelity and Interactive Brokers position exports are parsed in the format they produce, and each holding gets a stable id so next month’s statement reconciles line by line against this one.

2

Read-only connection via Plaid

Where the institution supports investment holdings through Plaid, you connect it yourself in the portal in about ten minutes. The token never reaches the browser and the connection cannot move money.

3

Direct connection

Sage Intacct through its Web Services API with a user you create, Bill.com through its API with a key you issue, Addepar through its portfolio query with an API key you issue. One credential per entity, stored server-side, and the three are tied out to each other every night from the night you connect them. Reading is all these paths do; the one write on the platform, paying a bill already approved in Bill.com, needs two of your people and is set out on the security page.

4

Platform export

If your adviser already runs Addepar, Black Diamond, Orion or Tamarac, their export is the source. You keep the system of record; we answer questions on top of it.

5

Spreadsheet template

Eleven CSV templates cover everything the frameworks need: positions, entities, managers, liabilities, cash flows, deadlines, documents. Every blank column is inferred, and the inference is shown to you.

Not listed

Ten business days from a sample file.

A custodian or administrator we have not read before is a parser, not a project. Send one anonymised export with your first question and we commit to reading it within ten business days. The path is then listed here for the next family.
